Most of the law student imagine their career as to become a grate criminal lawyer or do work in criminal litigation for protecting people from injustice who falsely implicated in the crime. But, becoming a criminal lawyer is not a cup of tea.

There are so many criminal lawyers practicing in different courts. To become a good among others there are some laws, skills & techniques, ground works must known. Like- Criminal laws (Indian Penal Code, 1860, Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Evidence Act), drafting works.

Reading above paras now you thinks that your clients are habitual pickpockets thieves, blackmailers, murders etc. Well, this a half picture of criminal litigation. Most of the lawyers who don’t deal with the corporate clients are often ignorant of the provisions of Companies Act, Copyrights Act, Trade Marks Act, Goods and Service Tax, Income Tax, etc. 

Dealing with corporate clients for their criminal litigation, we can use some skills under different laws, like- 1) Criminal Defamation under Indian Penal Code, 1860. 2) Under Legal Metrology Act, 2009 (like faulty weights & measures, tampering with packaging, faulty packaging, falsification of weights, not displaying MRP etc. 3) Under Trademarks & Copyrights Act (infringement and passing off situations, 3 year imprisonment in trademark and copyright act). 4) Under Goods & Services Tax (for issuing fake invoices, or submitting false information while registering under GST, or not submitting GST to the government within prescribed time, etc). 5) Under Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (also attracts section 188, 272, 273, 328 of Indian Penal Code).
